The Cardinals were leading the Phillies 9-3 with two outs in the top of the ninth inning on Tuesday night when the bottom fell out on St. Louis.

All five remaining Phillies hitters reached base as Philadelphia scored seven runs in the ninth to stun the defending National League champions
Crazy game The Philadelphia Phillies shocked the St. Louis Cardinals with a wild rally in the bottom of the ninth inning to open up the playoffs for both teams.
The two teams went back and forth all game, with St. Louis holding a 2-1 lead until Ryan Howard hit an RBI single in the seventh to tie it up.
Carlos Ruiz then doubled, advanced on a ground out, and scored on an error by David Freese which gave Philadelphia their first lead of the game.

Team effort With the score at 8-4, the Philadelphia Philles got a rally going in the top of the ninth inning. With two outs, Rhys Hoskins singled to put runners on first and second base.
Carlos Santana followed with a single, scoring one run and tying up the game at 8-8. Aaron Altherr then hit a line drive into right field
